A DUNEDIN man is planning to use pedal power to help victims of the tsunami which struck Samoa in late September.
Andrew Su’a, a group fitness instructor and personal trainer at the Les Mills gym, intends to ride a spin-bike non-stop for 24 hours this weekend to raise money for the people of Samoa.
Mr Su’a said a recent trip to the country, shortly after the Tsunami struck, left him wanting to help in any way he could.
‘‘The devastation I witnessed first hand was heart-wrenching,’’ Mr Su’a said.
‘‘People are still struggling over there and I want to do whatever I can to help.’’
Mr Su’a will start pedalling at the Wall Street mall at 11am tomorrow, and intends to keep going until 11am Saturday.
Two additional spinbikes will be set up alongside him for members of the public to join in and cycle for 20 minutes at a cost of $20.
Mr Su’a was also seeking donation pledges for his effort. The pledges could be made at the Wall Street mall during his cycle, or at Les Mills gym, in Dowling St
